My Philosophy: I try to bring energy to my class. If I can't get excited about my lesson for that day, why would my students?
My main subject focus is Elementary education and American Sign Language. I am extremely passionate about both and it is my main objective to spark that same passion in my students.

My main subject focus is Elementary education and American Sign Language. I am extremely passionate about both and it is my main objective to spark that same passion in my students.
There are a few things I try to accomplish in my classroom:
- Positive Environment. What a better way to teach then in an environment that beams with positivity? Not only will this influence the students within the curriculum, but with other activities throughout the day.
- Fair atmosphere. I want to do my best to create an atmosphere that is as fair as possible. If it is something I can control and put a fair spin or approach on something, I most certainly will.
- Influence of a caring person. I want my students to know I care about them. I care about who they are, their success, and their life lessons. If I can make the slightest positive influence in a student's life, I feel accomplished.
- Empowerment. I believe that anyone can do well in anything if they are willing to spend the time at it. Some pick it up quickly, others need to spend more time. I want to encourage all my students to be interested enough in the subject to invest more time. Then, I try to make sure they spend their time productively.
- Respect. Simply stated, if I show respect to my students, my hope is to teach them how to treat others. My job consists of more than just teaching these students the curriculum, but to teach them the small and maybe even big life lessons. I want to teach them what morals are, values, attractive characteristics they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. To be a teacher is to be a constant positive influence and it is a privilege to do so.
